Hillary, Just Go Away--We Have Had Enough of You!

Just recently, Hillary Clinton said effectively that she is prolonging her campaign just in case Barack Obama is assassinated the way Robert Kennedy was. This is darkness manifest. This is Othello. This is Evil.

Not long ago she was ducking bullets supposedly in Bosnia but the video clip of her visit showed a perfectly safe Clinton and her Chelsea being welcome without any incident. She made the story up.

In both instances Obama publicly gave her the benefit of the doubts in her equally unbelievable explanations. It is one thing to play the nasty negative politics, but these incidences go to the core of the Clinton character, which Obama should have taken advantage of and buried her. So, what is the matter with this Obama man.? May be he is just naïve the way his opponents portray him.

Hillary, if it doesn't fit, don't force it. You can't change fate--it is showing you the way but you are fighting against it to no avail.

The Gospel According to Vince Lombardi

Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile. VL

Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence. Vince Lombardi
Fatigue makes cowards of us all.
Vince Lombardi
Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority. Vince Lombardi
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.
Vince Lombardi
If it doesn't matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score?
Vince Lombardi
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score? Vince Lombardi
If you can accept losing you can't win. If you can walk you can run. No one is ever hurt. Hurt is in your mind.
Vince Lombardi
If you can accept losing, you can't win. Vince Lombardi
Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. Vince Lombardi
It's easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you're a winner, when you're number one. What you got to have is faith and discipline when you're not a winner.
Vince Lombardi
It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up. Vince Lombardi
Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile. Vince Lombardi
Leaders aren't born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal. Vince Lombardi Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later the man who wins, is the man who thinks he can. Vince Lombardi
Live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now! Vince Lombardi
Once you agree upon the price you and your family must pay for success, it enables you to ignore the minor hurts, the opponent's pressure, and the temporary failures. Vince Lombardi Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit. Vince Lombardi
People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.
Vince Lombardi
Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing-the result.
Vince Lombardi
Success demands singleness of purpose.
Vince Lombardi
The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.
Vince Lombardi
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.
Vince Lombardi
The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.
Vince Lombardi
The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.
Vince Lombardi
The leader can never close the gap between himself and the group. If he does, he is no longer what he must be. He must walk a tightrope between the consent he must win and the control he must exert.
Vince Lombardi
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.
Vince Lombardi
The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.
Vince Lombardi
The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. Vince Lombardi
The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.
Vince Lombardi
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. That's the essence of it. Vince Lombardi
We didn't lose the game; we just ran out of time.
Vince Lombardi
We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. Vince Lombardi
Winners never quit and quitters never win. Vince Lombardi
Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
Vince Lombardi
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing. Vince Lombardi
Winning is not everything, but wanting to win is. Vince Lombardi
Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is everything. Vince Lombardi
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

The Toxicity of Blame

http://www.monitor.co.ug/artman/publish/cartoon/LRA_boss_Joseph_Kony_didn_t_turn.shtml
Lao Tzu says:

Harboring a resentment
is sure to leave some resentment behind.
How can that be good?
It cannot.
Therefore, the wise accept all responsibility.

Although those who hold the power
keep blaming and bleeding the people,
the violated Great Integrity blames no one.
Once achieving the Great Integrity,
we will function with a pure heart.

--------------------
There has been some bitter exchanges on account of the recent pronouncement by some leaders of Acoli that the reason for the failure of the LRA rebel leader, Joseph Kony, to meet them at Nabanga was the machination by some people that included Acoli in the Diaspora.

Growing up, the idea of owning up to my deeds was probably the single teaching that my old man gave me. Especially, he did not like the phrase, “ I don’t know.” To him it was ducking responsibility.

So, to these leaders; how Kony got his advice not to cooperate is irrelevant in your responsibility to secure his signature. Your responsibility is to use all your faculties to persuade him—even if it means sending emissaries to his “advisors” to help weigh in on him. To blame others for your failure is a testament that you lack ability, and should come out and say it and, if necessary, pass the baton to others.

Lao Tzu says:

Nothing in the world
is softer and weaker than water.
Yet there is nothing better
for subduing all that is harder and stronger.

Everyone observes
how weak overcomes strong,
how gentleness overcomes rigidity.
Yet, this principle is seldom
put into conscious practice.

Though some may say it is useless,
to accept responsibility
for the calamities and toxicity of the world,
taking such responsibility
might put us on the road
to the Great Integrity.
Just remember the truth
often masquerades as falsity,
And falsity as truth.

One Down--Two to Go

I have in the past week been hunkered down in completing a project due today. Procrastination, procrastination is one of my biggest weaknesses. And so I pulled all my resources and did an all-nighter the day before. With music blaring and downing mugs of caffeine I was glued in front of the computer—researching, re-reading and re-doing various sections of the project. All this echoing my school days of paper writing—except in those days I usually wrote longhand and gave the drafts for fee-based typing to a school secretary who was glad to make some extra coin from those of us who were typing challenged.

Alas! It is done—and one day before the deadline! Why the phrase “deadline’? It is one of those weird phrases like the politicians’ “I will fight for you!” Don’t fight, just deliver!

For a time my worse fear seemed to come true. I expected that it would be difficult to access the server for submission of the project since many, like me, would be waiting until the last minute. At times I could not review and got strange messages. The hour-glass would not complete when I tried submitting. I had to get away for a while and, to my surprise, I came back to receive an automatic server message that my project application was received! Wow! What a nite!

While I am in this work mode I better get on with the remaining two other projects—in time before the summer frolicking—which I intend to seriously—to be joyful and fun-loving. I will ride my bike a lot. I might do Afrika.

As I slaved away many thoughts passed through my mind:

An incident showed me that there are many cowards in this world. The worst are the ones who hide decisions behind a non-descript group—like management, or committee. Only sorry losers use this trick. When you detect stay away from such characters—they can get you killed ‘cause you rely on them to your destruction.

Experience matters. As you continue to do a thing you discover better and easier ways to do it.

Probably Jesus did not mean it literally when he talked about turning the other cheek. Otherwise he would not have beaten and chased away people trading in the synagogue. At this stage, to me it means letting go. You have done your best, but the results are not coming through. Why go melancholic on the world for it? Just let go. You have got a raw deal in a transaction, and you feel like tearing the other person to pieces. Practice some yoga, and let go and regain your peace.

What Does Hillary Want?

Many times the ways of politicos puzzle me. Take this Clinton gal: she made up stories that she was ducking bullets in Bosnia all for the purpose of creating a myth around her; and she knows the race for the democratic primary is over, yet she lends her quest $6.4 million.

I guess as somebody said; it is payback time for the sins of her way-ward husband. She thinks the democratic party owes her for the humiliation and the ordeal during the Lewinsky fiasco. The lady is saying: y'all owe me somethin' for my sacrifice of standing in support lest the democratic party and its presidency would have gone down in smokes. Isn't that something?

Now she is race-baiting as in
""I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

Others think she is playing for 2012, and doesn't give a hoot what happens in November now that she is not going to be the democratic nominee. If she can spoil for Barack, the old gizzard McCain might be elected, but in 2012 he might be on life support, considering his age. Then viola! Rocky Balboa in a dress will be in the ring to trounch anyone who dared.

Quotes that Hit Home

You conduct yourself as best as you can. Often serving your interests the best way you know how-- remembering at the back of your mind, as a born Catholic boy, that you live to serve others in the final analysis -- hopefully without stepping on any toes. Then, kaboom! You are hit from your blind side, and you are thrown into doubts about humanity.

"Why did I ignore all the signs," you ask yourself. You are told to trust your instincts. Then you are told to think through. You are told that giving ennobles. Then when you give you are thrashed.

I am okay--just working on some experiences that the quotes below brought to the surface. The quotes are of a writer on The Root, listed under News Sources on acolidreamer blog.

“The thing is, and I learned this the hard way, women are not the benevolent, essentially good creatures they're made out to be and men are not the Neanderthals they are made out to be, either. Women can be undermining, power hungry, psychologically and physically abusive, viciously competitive, corrupt, and a whole host of other unsavories. All human beings have these tendencies. Every human being has to wage a personal war to ensure the good wins out. "

“To borrow an Obama-ism, today I'm feeling a bit, well, bitter. The world as it's configured is unsustainable, period. Adapt or die. Change or implode. Give credit where credit is due, and pass over the resulting resources. Stop hoarding. Stop silencing. Stop rejecting. Stop it. Just stop it.”

“Today I'm going to meditate on being peaceful. I know anger isn't the way to solve these problems. I send love to everyone, even the folks I'm upset with. I know we're all doing the best we can, but we have to do better”
